Our Veterinary Nurses are here to help you

Our clinics are run by our caring veterinary nurses. Appointments can be made via telephone or in person. Please ask for a Nurse Clinic Consultation.
In all clinics, animals will be weighed and given a general health check. Any problems noticed will be referred to a vet for further examination, advice and treatment.

Vaccination Clinic

Our nurse team help with the vaccinations and are now involved in admionsitering the second part of the puppy and kitten vaccinations when clients bring their pets for the second vaccination.  This gives clients the opportunity to ask the vet questions and receive advice from the vet on the first vaccination when the clinical examination and checks are carried out by the vet, and any further questions for the nurse can be addressed on the second visit.

Your pet will be given a general health and weight check and advice will be given on the following:

Diet
Fleas and worms
Insurance
Micro chipping
Neutering
Dental care

The nurse will also be able to answer any general questions that you may have.

Puppy Parties

Parties takes place in the evening and invites are sent out after their 1st vaccination. The aim of the party is to help with puppy socialisation and to advise owners on responsible pet ownership as detailed above.
It allows owners to swap stories of their puppys progress, adventures and mishaps!

Weight clinic

Nearly 1 in 5 pets in the UK are now thought to be clinically overweight. Obesity affects the general health of pets, as well as predisposing animals to diseases such as diabetes and
arthritis. Our nurses operate "weight-clinics", where practical and realistic advice is given to help your pet get into the ideal condition. Once a suitable feeding regime and diet is worked out, we encourage regular free clinics to have "weigh-ins" so as to check your pets progress.

New Pet Clinic

This clinic is similar to the puppy and kitten clinic. It is intended for any new owner and provides advice on all aspects of the care of your new pet whatever their age. The nurse will give your new addition a general health and weight check and be able to answer any general questions you might have.

Dental Check

Dental hygiene is very important for animals as well as it is for humans. 70% of dogs and cats have some form of dental disease which, if left untreated, can cause problems for the heart, liver and kidneys. In the dental check your pet will have a thorough examination of its mouth including its teeth, gums and tongue. You will also receive dental care advice appropriate for your pet. There are many ways to look after your pets teeth including suitable toys, chews, diet and teeth cleaning.

Administration of Worming Tablets

This clinic is intended for anybody who struggles to give worming tablets to their pets. Cats are often the most difficult but some dogs can be a handful also. As well as
administering the worming tablet, the nurse will give your pet a general health and weight check.

Senior Lifestyle Clinic

A free consultation with the nurse for cats and dogs over seven years of age. This will enable you to understand the changes in your pet's lifestyle once they have reached the age of Seven Years or more.

Visitors to the clinic can request routine blood tests for their pets and receive advice for the best care as old age creeps upon them.

Did you realise that at the age of 7 your pet is the equivalent of a 60-year-old human? At this age it becomes more important to maintain regular health checks to help detect any potential problems at an early stage and so ensure your pet's quality of life.

A Free urine analysis will also be performed.

Senior well pet clinics are offered at £59.00 inc vat which is a great value service aimed at detecting disease early, which then provides more opportunities to prevent illness and maintain happy lives for longer.  These clinics involve a consultation with a vet first, where the clinical examination and history are taken, and the nurses are involved in taking the blood samples and running the tests.  The blood tests run by the nurses provide a comprehensive check for cats and dogs, and typically detect diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, hyperthyroid (cats) problems.

Microchipping

The technique of implanting an Identification Computer Chip is a clever and lifelong method of retrieving your lost pet. The procedure involves a simple injection.
